Todays exercise updated stats

NEW RECORD for me! 5k in 46 minutes, I walked the rest of the way. Very cool! I am so surprised that I can actually jog for the majority of the time. I do have to walk every 20 minutes or so for a couple of minutes but I start right back up again and push forward. Tomorrow will be off day and Saturday I am doing a catering event so I will be working hard and will probably burn more energy than the run does ;).

Good Run

happyImage by onkel_wart via Flickr
Just a quick note today:

Yesterday I ran for 55 minutes. Well that has been my norm for over a month now. The real news is that I literally RAN for 32 minutes at 4.1mph. I had to walk for a bit but then I ran again! Amazing how much I have been able to gain in such a short time. Just for giggles I weighed myself this morning and I was 251! Only 2 pounds to get below 250.  I am at 29 pounds sofar in my loss! Very exciting stuff. I wont weigh myself again until next week. I am hoping for a big surprise then.

Still on track!

Just checking in. My new business has kind of overwhelmed me these last couple of weeks. I started a catering business in May. It has been slow going up until now. I know, having a food service company while trying to lose weight.

Well the good news is I am a vegetarian. Hard core one at that and I am also slightly allergic to chocolate. Which means I have a very strong will against eating what I don't want to. Problem is from time to time I do want to eat potato chips and dip.

I was feeling down because I was not exercising and the last weight I did 11 days ago I actually gained 2 pounds and was up to 258 again. I weighed myself this morning and I am back on track! I am at 252 and still on track to lose 155 by June 30,2011. I just need to find the time to do some slow walks at high incline on my incline trainer. I got the Jillian Michaels one about 2 years ago and up until now ( around February this year) I had not used it too much.

So all is right with the world, at least for today. Its a war of inches and I just advanced against the enemy.

Here is my treadmill:

Checking in

Sad monkeyImage by Photocapy via Flickr
Just checking in. I had a bit of a scare after last weeks 4 mile run. The next day I woke up and it hurt to breathe. It was during deep breaths only.

My whole trunk was sore though but I thought I should go to the doctor. By the time I went it was after my Dr's office had closed so I went to after hours care. It took 2 hours to be seen and when they did the PA said I had pluracy, basically where the lungs are rubbing on the surrounding tissue. Its a pretty serious condition. He prescribed me a steroid and also some antibiotics because the steroid would lower my immune system. Great.

The real truth was I was just sore and did not have pluracy. Instead I was just sick and sore from the run. I never took the meds because its too iffy. I am just going to take it easy for a few days and then hit it.

Kind of disappointing that every time I go for it my body rebells in some way. If I would quit getting sick I could burn the calories. Maybe its too much too soon? Who knows.
